One little, two little, three little boys...

Two of my best friends from high school are also pregnant.  Lauren is due in September and Diana is due in November.  We're all having boys.  We recently spent the day together and I'm sure people were wondering if we came from a pregnant lady parade.  We were quite a sight.  So much so that we decided to take a picture to document it.  It's not a great picture of any of us; however, it does show three pregnant friends, all in a row!

 

 

You've got to be kidding me!

So I signed up to receive the weekly email pregnancy updates from baby center.  Funny thing because I didn't do it for my first but that's not the point of this post.

The point of this post is to voice the actual shock I felt when reading this week's update.  Most of the time I enjoy reading the two paragraph update and then I quickly move on to the next email.  However, two things threw me for a loop after reading this week's update.  I've listed them below:

1.  As your baby fills out even more of your belly, lots of things might start to change: Whereas before you were sashaying, you may find yourself waddling.  Finding an easy position to sit in-let alone sleep-is becoming more of a challenge.  

2.  Many women are still feeling sexy at this stage...

Regarding point number one, I'm pretty sure I've never sashayed in my life.  I've also been waddling for some time now and it's been a LONG time since I've been able to sit or sleep comfortably.  

Regarding point number two, all I have to say is REALLY???  Sexy, I don't think so.

I knew there was a reason I didn't sign up for these updates the first time around.

I'll get there...

I have a ton of updates, which I will take care in the next few weeks.  I just haven't had any free computer time.  Actually, that's a lie.  I have had some free time that I could have spent on the computer.  But I used it to take a nap.  Forgive me.  

Bubbles Bubbles

One of John Henry's favorite books is called Bubbles Bubbles.  We've read it so many times I can recite the entire book by heart.  (It's a short book so please don't think my memory is all that great).  Seeing as how this has been a favorite book since March, and that the book is about being in a bubble bath, you would think we would have given John Henry a bubble bath before now.  I guess we're a little slow.  Needless to say, it was a big hit.  So big that he refuses to take a bath if there are no bubbles.  I think we've created a monster...

 

I would like to point out that these pictures were taken the first night he had a bubble bath.  He was so enthralled that I couldn't get him to look up for the camera.  I'm not kidding when I say he was so into the bubbles that Elmo could have been standing next to the tub and he would have never noticed. 

   

Happy 4th!

True Love

This morning I offered John Henry the last cinnamon roll for breakfast.  I wasn't heartbroken when he said no because that meant I got to eat it.  Actually, I was thrilled.  I'm hungry and pregnant and that cinnamon roll looked delicious.  And it was delicious.  Just as I was getting to the best part (the middle where it's nice and soft and all the icing has melted down into it) John Henry decided he wanted the cinnamon role.  I won't lie.  I actually sat there and thought about saying, "Sorry Charlie.  You had your chance".  However, seeing as how he was a little sick, and hadn't had much to eat in 24 hours, I felt that I should give it to him.  So I gave John Henry the very best part of the cinnamon role.  It was a painful experience (for me) and if I didn't love him with all my heart I wouldn't have shared.  I'm pretty sure that's what they call true love.

What it Is and What it Isn't

At first glance this might look like an adorable scene.  A sweet boy enjoying his breakfast and his faithful dog waiting by his side.  That's what this isn't.  The truthful description is a devious boy, prolonging his breakfast by offering up his Cheerios to the dog, and right before she gets it in her mouth, he takes it away and eats it.  As a result of this mean game, the dog is two seconds away from taking out the boy to finish off his two remaining Cheerios that she feels are rightfully hers.  That's what this is.

Oh Boy!

We FINALLY found out what we are having and it's a boy!  Believe it or not Jay refused to come with me to one of those sonogram places before my 20 week check up.  Since I didn't want to find out without him, I had to wait.  I can't believe he put me through that misery!  Oh well, when the day finally came, I was pretty sure I was having a boy.  When the technician asked us our thoughts, Jay said girl and I said boy.  As usual I was right.  (In all honesty, I'm not actually right most of the time but don't tell Jay). 

We (meaning me) thought it would be fun to let out family members know by having a dessert with either pink or blue inside the dessert to reveal the baby's gender.  Thankfully for us our good friend Sarah Calvert makes amazing desserts.  She was able to make us delicious cupcakes with blue frosting on the inside.  She was also the first to know and was great about not telling anyone.  Clint did his best to get the secret out of her but she claimed baker client privilege.  Gotta love it!

As you look through the pictures below please know one thing.  Our family doesn't normally eat dessert standing up.  We also don't normally eat dessert before dinner.  However, out impatient family couldn't wait until after dinner to find out and they basically attacked us to get to the cupcakes when we walked through the door.  I barely had time to get the camera out!

Henry was the first to see the blue.  He was so excited!

Even though Sumner wanted a girl, she wore blue for the occasion.

John Henry didn't really understand what was going on.  However, he did enjoy feeding Grandma her cupcake.

Our family of three - soon to be four.  Boy will I be outnumbered!
